There are certain times of year that just give us that warm and cosy feeling. When it comes to romance, Christmas has to be the winner. Maybe it’s the thought of crackling log fires and the smell of mulled wine or even the sparkling lights of the Christmas Tree and a huge box of chocolates to hand. Whatever the reason, why not embrace the moment with a special Christmas gift for that one person who’s worth sharing it all with?

Getting Personal
Most people will admit to enjoying a little drink over the holidays and it’s possibly the only time of year we can have a house full of alcohol without feeling guilty. Bottles of champagne can make wonderful Christmas Gifts but why not celebrate Christmas in style with a unique bottle of personalised Champagne? You can create your own label on a genuine bottle of fizz and dedicate it to your favourite person with their name and a message of your choice. Make a similar gesture for friends and family with an engraved bottle of Personalised Christmas Wine or Personalised whiskey.

Dedication’s all you need
Or so the theme tune to a certain Record-Breaking programme led us to believe. But it doesn’t take a great deal of effort to show your loved one that you do actually remember the little things in life too. Almost all of us have a favourite track or a single redolent of a well-spent or indeed mis-spent youth. It is now possible to choose just about any UK Single from January 1992 to the present (or indeed obtain the vinyl version if the date precedes this) as Christmas Gifts. Once sourced, most offerings will be presented, along with your personal message and a polished aluminium plaque, in an attractive frame. If your loved one is utterly music-mad, you can even find them a personalised Replica Twelve Inch Gold Disc. If you are decide to go down this route, it makes sense to choose your partner’s favourite song, the track you first danced to, or maybe even the single that was number one when they were born. Few things are quite as personal as musical taste and a careful choice of such Christmas Gifts sends a very strong message. You’ve taken the time to get to know them. You’ve listened to them. They’re worth it.

A Winter Wonderland
Every Christmas marks the passage of time. Another year together. Some things achieved, others missed. Few of us realise all of our ambitions and life is, after all, about the journey. With that in mind, there is no harm at all in a little daydreaming. In fact it is now possible to give your nearest and dearest a very real dream: a day of indulging in the other loves of their life. From a Ferrari Thrill at Silverstone, to a less testosterone-filled golf lesson and round of golf, or perhaps a helicopter buzz flight; there are seemingly endless Gifts for indulging budding James Bonds or Nigel Mansells. For those of us with somewhat more sedentary partners, perhaps an experience day choice for her: a luxury experience at a health and beauty club, a haircut from a top stylist or a few hours wine tasting at a vineyard, may be a better choice. Once again, it is the degree of thought that will make or break the success of any Christmas Gifts. There are all sorts of treats to choose from and you won’t be reduced to presenting your loved one with an IOU scribbed on the back of a parking ticket on Christmas morning: today’s experience day gifts almost invariably come in the form of vouchers or cards, often in attractive presentation boxes.

The Ultimate Christmas Gifts
Sometimes it can be the little things in life that mean the most to others so don’t forget the stocking fillers either. A well-chosen pampering or grooming Christmas gift will generally be warmly received although be sure not to make it too practical: we all have imperfections and Christmas morning isn’t generally the best time at which to be reminded of them! Few people will object to a decent Christmas Wine and Luxury Chocolates Hamper. If it’s romance that you’re after then consider how you too might be able to share in this Christmas gift and spend some time together. You could always include the keys to a cottage for a January break inside the hamper. For the ultimate romantic gesture, why not give the one you love your last Rolo? Not just any Rolo of course, but a My Last Rolo Hallmarked gold or silver one that comes complete with a luxury presentation box.

Hide away for the holidays
If you’re planning on going abroad for the festive season (top marks for being romantic if that’s your partner’s main Christmas gift) or even if you’re already thinking about where to go for the summer; then surprise your loved one with a Bon Voyage Passport Cover or a First Class Luggage Tag. Not only can these add a touch of style to any luggage but they can act as a useful clue to any other surprises you may have planned!

All I want for Christmas
If you don’t always consider yourself to be the romantic type, or you’re really struggling for something more to say, then perhaps you could let this little Christmas gift say it all for you. The winner of the ‘Gift of the Year Award, 2007′: A Sun Jar: Sunshine in a Jar. Made with a traditional Mason Jar and energy efficient lighting, its lights shine brightly at night, using solar cell batteries that are charged during the day. Now you can quite literally add a little more sunshine to someone’s life! Ultimately, the festive season should be about togetherness, celebrating the year that has passed and sharing joint optimism of things to come in the year ahead. Christmas Gifts are not only an integral part of the season’s festivities but they are yet another opportunity for you to demonstrate insight, thoughtfulness and caring in their selection. They convey a great deal more about you than they do about the recipient!

Having splashed and sloshed our way through the wettest summer in living memory, many of us Brits are severely in need of a bit of light relief. Recent statistics reveal a desperate rush to leave the country over Christmas and head to the gloriously sunny climes of Tenerife. The statistics, from a survey by TravelRepublic, show a massive increase in winter sun holidays in general and Christmas holidays to Tenerife are the most popular of all.

There has been a drop in Tenerife holiday prices this season with many one-week package holidays to Tenerife coming in at under £300. Cheap holidays to Tenerife are clearly a big draw to those of us keen to escape the grim British weather, but could there be more to it than this? Christmas is getting bigger every year and the pressure to get it right is immense. A Tenerife Christmas can remove such hassles, and more. That’s why I’ve compiled a list of ten aspects of Christmas hell and how jetting off on a sunny holiday to Tenerife will turn them all around!

1) In the UK: Presents and shopping

Us Brits spend an average of £384 on 18 Christmas presents. Significantly more than you might be spending on your whole Tenerife holiday!

In Tenerife: Spanish souvenirs

It’s impossible to list all the Spanish souvenirs you could find for your loved ones, but here are five of the most popular items you could pick up whilst on holiday in Tenerife:

Abanico - hand held fans elaborately decorated or carved from wood make a great Tenerife Christmas present.
Football Souvenirs - items brandishing the Real Madrid crest or a miniature replica of the stadium are ideal gifts for footie fans!

Bullfighting Souvenirs - you can buy a representation of the three matadors or even a replica matador’s jacket.

Toro - these miniature Spanish bulls vary in quality from moulded plastic to elaborate pieces hand made in leather.

Art & Paintings - from the country that gave birth to Salvador Dali and Picasso there is a large selection of cheap scenes of everyday Spain.

2) In the UK: Enforced jollity

At Christmas there is no greater sin then appearing to be grumpy. Never mind if it’s raining again when it ought to be snowing. Never mind the awkward family tensions. If your mood isn’t up you’re in trouble - you’re ‘ruining Christmas’.

In Tenerife: Real jollity

Waking up to the bliss of no responsibilities and a day of sunbathing will put you in a naturally good mood, so there’s no need to fake it!

3) In the UK: Inappropriate outfits

Christmas seems to inspire the oddest outfits: fluorescent antlers, hair tinsel, ‘fun’ paper crowns, ridiculous knitted festively themed woolly jumpers - the list is endless and another example of that enforced jollity.

In Tenerife: A good tan

Developing a healthy glow on holiday in Tenerife will make you the envy of all your friends when the glitter of Christmas has died down to a dull fizzle and everyone’s feeling pale and miserable. Ha-ha!

4) In the UK: Guzzling excessive cheap alcohol

To get through the emotional rollercoaster of another family Christmas, many of us, despite our best intentions, will turn to the bottle to ease the pain. The following day’s hangover only makes it that much worse.

In Tenerife: Sipping cocktails by the pool

There are so many fabulous bars in Tenerife that you’ll be spoilt for choice, and there’s no need to overdo it when you’re already having so much fun!

5) In the UK: Office parties

You can already picture the scene: watching what you drink in case you say exactly what you think about your unbearable boss or colleague, whilst pretending not to be disgusted by the cringeworthy advances of the office letch. Finally, you end up dancing wildly with said letch in a mad drunken stupor. The Facebook photos won’t make it any easier to forget.

In Tenerife: Beach parties!

A beach party in Tenerife will really blow away the winter cobwebs. For daytime fun, the main beach of Playa de las Americas is where the party people go to recharge their batteries before the next clubland assault and when the sun goes down you can head to Enramada Beach near La Caleta, where Chiringuito Beach Club hosts parties at the weekend. Many revellers choose to camp on the beach at Las Galletas, bringing their own food and drinks and listening to music into the small hours. Christmas in Tenerife is such fun!

6) In the UK: Christmas lunch

First of all, whoever’s cooking is incredibly stressed, and claims you have no idea how much work there is to do (if you try and help then you’re inevitably doing it all wrong). This leads to petty arguments and numerous kitchen disasters. Meanwhile one member of the family has suddenly decided to become a vegan without telling anyone and refuses to eat a thing, glaring grumpily while everyone else tucks into their turkey.

In Tenerife: Tapas & fresh tropical fruit

Food in Tenerife is very tasty and a lot less stressful than Christmas dinner. Tapas are Spain’s appetizers, scrummy little dishes which are often flavoured with garlic, chillies or paprika, cumin, salt, pepper or saffron. It often comes with seafood such as anchovies, sardines or mackerel in olive oil with tomatoes and sometimes peppers or olives. On your Tenerife holiday you can also sample many delicious tropical fruits like mangoes, paw paw and ‘platanos fritos’ - fried bananas.

7) In the UK: Christmas television

Saccharine Coca Cola adverts, endless repeats of ‘Only Fools and Horses’, soap extravaganzas and ‘Celebrity’ Christmas specials.

In Tenerife: singles - Find a winter romance

For goodness sake, forget TV and get out there onto the lively Tenerife singles scene. If anything’s going to boost your sprits at Christmas it’s a sizzling holiday romance!

8) In the UK: Christmas number ones

Slade’s ‘So here it is Merry Christmas’, Band Aid’s ‘Do they know it’s Christmas’ and Aled Jones’ ‘Walking in the air’. Haven’t you heard them all enough?

In Tenerife: iPod

Forget the naffness - when you set off for your holiday in Tenerife you make sure you’ve got all your favourite tunes at your fingertips so you can sunbathe in peace.

9) In the UK: Carol singers

Expecting you to give them money for one chorus of ‘We Wish You a Merry Christmas’ when half of them don’t know the words and the other half are miming.

In Tenerife: iPod

See above.

10) In the UK: Unrelentingly grim weather

Grrr. Grrr. Grrr.

In Tenerife: Sunshine

Mmm - what a relief!

Lights are the magic of Christmas. Who among us does not have at least a few treasured memories of traveling in the car as a child during the Winter months, staring out at all the outdoor Christmas decorations on the stores, homes and light posts that blurred past? The seemingly unending procession of string lights, lighted Christmas trees and outdoor Christmas sculptures greatly contribute to the warm feeling we call the Christmas spirit. There is no reason why anyone should have to spend a small fortune to evoke this special effect upon the own home or place of business. At Residential Landscape Lighting & Design, we offer an extensive selection of discount outdoor Christmas decorations that will help you create the Christmas spirit in whatever shape, size or color you choose!

Christmas String Lights.

Light strings are essential to any outdoor Christmas decoration scheme. They provide the foundation upon which more intricate decorations can be applied. Mini light strings can be used to accent the corners of your building, or outline architectural features such as doors or windows. Icicle string lights can be strung along eaves or overhangs, evoking a wintry feel even in the warmest of climates.

Christmas Rope Lights.

Christmas rope lights offer an interesting alternative to traditional string lights. Rope lights are more durable and consequently more versatile than incandescent string lights. Rope lights come in a variety of colors, including red, blue and white. Xmas Rope lights are cuttable, dimmable and long-lasting (average 25,000 hours of life!) LED rope lights are substantially more energy efficient than incandescent rope lights, and have an extraordinary long lamp life (60,000 hours for colors, and up to 100,000 hours for warm white.)

Christmas Outdoor Yard Art.

Once you have fully outlined your home or store, along with the pathways and lamp posts, with colorful strings of light, you should consider truly bringing your work to live with outdoor light sculptures. We have many types of yard art sculptures to choose from, featuring all of your favorite Xmas characters. Whether you want a small decorative sculpture to place upon the front wall of your home, such as a bell or angel, or a large sculpture to decorate your lawn, such as Santa, reindeer or a Peanuts display.

Outdoor Christmas Decoration Accessories

If you have existing fixtures you purchased from us, or anyone else, we have a good selection of accessories and replacement bulbs at discount prices. Whether you need C7 or C9 bulbs, or even specialty clips for attractively mounting string lights on your home or business.

LED-lit like its window-sized counterpart, this tree resembles a flat panel sign that can stand in a large window or hang on the side of a building. No one will miss the thousands of LED Christmas lights decorate the sculpture and provide a 30-direct view that is clear from any distance. With over 13 sizes ranging from 8 to 100 feet, this Christmas light sculpture looks equally appealing when viewed from afar or a focal point nearby. The lights of this LED holiday decoration come with intensity controls that control brightness and color, and they also include optional pre-programmed lighting themes. It offers the same aesthetic appeal as pre-lit artificial Christmas trees, but is also able to fit in places full-sized trees cannot.

Artificial Christmas Garlands unite tradition and elegance like few Christmas decorations do. Because they look organic and have tips that resemble those of Christmas trees, they function as a mainstay to almost every holiday household. Highly flexible, and designed to last for years, they compliment any standing furniture piece, tree, outdoor structure, and even certain indoor architectural keynotes. Artificial lighted Christmas garlands can wrap around trees, intertwine through the support railings of gently sloping staircases, and add a sense of light and nature to bookshelves, display cases, and the often-empty spot on top of the mantle. Pre-lit garlands offer tremendous decorative benefit with return on investment, adding illuminated accent to room and holiday lighting motifs that will return undiminished, on time, for many seasons to come.

Pre-lit Christmas garlands offer some of the best compliments to the top of any fireplace mantle. Lush, full, and durable, they look truly organic in the shadowy space above the fire. The Black Forest Christmas garland package includes four 9′ artificial Christmas garlands that can wind unobtrusively around the base of religious candles and icons, compliment family photographs, and drape gently over the sides of the fireplace. Each garland features 14″ tips and comes pre-lit with 100 Christmas lights concealed at the base of the tips that radiate an aura of light from within the foliage’s interior. Black Forest Pre-lit garlands are just wide enough in diameter to wrap around a seven-day candle on top of the mantle, extending the candlelight outward with 100 shining lamps that flow over the edge and drape over the sides in balance and in light.

Most people who decorate with Garlands almost invariably add at least one natural or artificial garland to the Christmas tree. This tradition has been with us for centuries and will doubtless continue for many more. The problem people encounter, however, is that generic garlands blend into the tree too well-making it difficult to see the garland for the tree. There is a simple solution that maintains tradition and offers differentiation in keeping with the true spirit of the season. The 9′X12″ Colorado Frost pre-lit Christmas Garland comes with 200 frosted tips that makes any tree they decorate look like it has been touched by freshly fallen snow. Its white lights make an excellent compliment to any number of multi-colored LED or Christmas string lights that we affordably provide. Decorators who prefer to use pre-lit garlands as their main source of Christmas tree lighting can add a multi-color Sierra that measures 9′ in length and a full 14″ in diameter. Use one or two of these together to layer the tree in a total of 200 lights that follow winding spiral paths from treetop to base, weaving in and out of the branches like living ornaments of greenery and light.

Pre-lit Artificial Christmas garlands offer even greater creative and expressive options for decorating beyond the boundaries of the room, the furnishings, and the Christmas tree. Our pre-lit, two-color light garland alone can add holiday brightness to both indoor fixtures and outdoor settings alike. Featuring 300 lamps and a 30-inch lead cord, it can wind around porch pillars, gazebo railings, and trees in both front and back yards. Inside, it adds color and a subtle touch of light to the foot of the stairs, creating steady ambience that compliments the flash of Christmas tree lights across the room. To make the staircase come to life, add a Kennedy pre-lit Christmas garland that measures 108″ in height and 14″ in diameters. Let it wind between the railings just under the handrail, meandering along side human steps with 100 clear lamps that lead to a multi-colored finale at the foot of the stairs.

Artificial Pre-Lit Christmas trees are becoming increasingly popular among those who enjoy the ease and convenience of setting up a fully decorated tree in only minutes. These artificial trees are made of durable materials and are expertly crafted to last for many years of use. There are more options available than one might think. The following are a few examples:

Black Forest Pre-lighted Artificial Christmas Trees: Black forest evergreens are so rich, they even have a cake named after them. These trees range in height from seven and a half feet to an enormous eight and a half feet tall. With our pre-lit “full noble” artificial Christmas trees, you can have the nobility of this fine specimen right in your living room each year without having to lift an ax!

Tiffany Pre-Lit Artificial Christmas Trees: The Pre-Lit Tiffany series by CMI-Lites features trees that are lush, full and durable. They range in height between six and a half and height and a half feet tall. They come in clear or multi-colored mini light options.

Everest Pre-Lit Artificial Christmas Trees: The Pre-Lit Everest trees are truly gigantic. Towering at 14 feet, 17 feet, 20 feet, 23 feet, or even 35 feet tall, this tree is the “Everest” of the pines. Fitted with thousands of evenly distributed lights, strung along wrapped, angled branches, this is the largest artificial Christmas tree in all selections. The shipping and availability information on these trees may vary depending on the size and time of the year and the shipping method that many truck lines company offer.

Aspen Pre-Lit Artificial Christmas Trees: Bring the winter magic of the Colorado mountains into your home with our Aspen artificial Christmas trees. Pre-lighted with hundreds of mini-lights, these trees offer the ultimate in convenience. These small artificial pre-lit Christmas trees can be easily placed in areas with low clearance. They come in 3-foot, 4-foot or 5-foot varieties.

It’s a fact…golfers hate Christmas. Alright, maybe ‘hate’ is a bit too strong a word, but I can guarantee that every golfer in the world will look at his neatly-wrapped presents beneath the Christmas tree this year with some trepidation.

Because for some reason, our loved ones (bless their little cotton socks) think Christmas is the time of year when they can choose the perfect golf present. And they can’t.

Believe it not, golfers don’t want exploding novelty golf balls. We prefer real ones. And cheap battery-powered score counters are a waste of time. We like using a pencil.

So to make it easy for you to buy the golfer in your family a Christmas gift they’ll definitely appreciate - here’s a list of the 6 best and 6 worst Christmas golf gifts for men.

The Six Best Golf Gifts
1. Golf hypnosis CDs. Every professional golfer has a ‘mind guru’ who helps strengthen their mental game. Every amateur golfer cannot afford one - but we can have access to all the tricks of the golf mind coach trade through the golf hypnosis CDs at www.golfhypnotherapy.com. ‘Become a Deadly Short Putter’ and ‘Beat First Tee Nerves’ give exactly the kind of mind coaching we need. Written by a qualified PGA Professional golf coach, they’re prefect at £12.95 each.

2. An electronic caddie. What’s the next best thing to a real caddie? An electronic caddie. And they come no better than the SkyCaddie SG5 Pro Series. It’s a battery-powered GPS rangefinder that tells golfers exactly how far they need to hit the ball. There are 16,000 courses worldwide that can downloaded to the SG5, which can be bought from www.skycaddiegps.co.uk

3. A round of golf on a great course. Most golfers love playing new courses - and at www.TeeTimes.co.uk you can organise a round on more than 200 UK courses, with up to 60% off the normal green fee. Some of the country’s best courses are online, so give your golfer a great day out.

4. A square driver. Square-shaped golf clubs are all the rage this year, from the RAM Qube3 to the Callaway FT-i used by Ernie Els. It would make your loved one’s year to find one poking out from the tinsel.

5. Balls. Proper ones. Whether it’s a sleeve of three Titleist ProV1s (the best ball on the planet) or a dozen cheapies, for some strange reason those tiny round things will bring a smile every time. See www.direct-golf.co.uk for a massive selection.

6. A new putter. Golfers are obsessed with putting and putters. We treat them like works of art - collecting them at will. The new MacGregor’s Face-off version is super hot, along with the Mizuno Bettinardi range.

The Six Worst Golf Gifts
1. Novelty golf balls. Some explode, some wobble, some dissolve into powder. And some actually bring a smile to our faces - for a millisecond. Don’t do it. Not even as a stocking-filler. Save your money and get us some proper balls.

2. Hip flasks. Are we drunks? No, we can live for four hours without a drop of the hard stuff for heaven’s sake. We only need water or energy drinks on the course. And we enjoy a pint afterwards. There is no way, ever, that a quart of whisky or rum will improve our game.

3. Scottish stuff. OK, Scotland is the home of golf, but that’s as much as we care to know. A tartan towel, tartan bag, tartan tees, tartan socks, is not what you want if you live in London! And the towels are never big enough.

4. Jumpers. With embroidered pictures of golfers. You might as well buy us a sweater with ‘Loser’ written on it. Golf has become seriously stylish in recent years and anything that makes us look like a throwback from the 50s is out.

5. Electronic scoring devices. At the golf course we get given a pencil and a scorecard. It’s efficiency supreme. So we don’t need to fiddle about with a wrist-scorer, or a pocket-scorer, or any other weird and wonderful gadget to help us add up.

6. Ball cleaners. In our world, a towel is enough. Anything else just takes up vital bag or pocket space.

Christmas will be here soon and you may already be planning for the holiday festivities. You need to get organized now to fully enjoy the season. Here are some ideas for organizing all of the winter gear that is coming out of storage. Also you should prepare for the parties and family coming in for the holiday season.

First, get your own stuff organized. Think about what you’ll need and what you won’t this winter. Now is the time to get all of those summer clothes out of your closets and drawers and into storage. Keep out a couple of things that you may need for working around the house or for unseasonably warm days. Everything else needs to be put away to make room for bulky winter wear.

Your coat closet will soon become one of the most visited places in your house. Go through and donate coats, scarves hats and gloves that you never used last year. Keep your most functional coats front and foremost in the closet and store dress coats and ski gear near the back or in a spare room closet if possible. You’ll need some sort of organizational shelving, drawers or door racks for scarves, gloves and hats. A rack that hangs on the door with lots of positional baskets is great for organizing gloves, hats and scarves. They’re really designed for pantry use, but work great in a coat closet. The baskets allow for air to circulate and dry wet gloves. You can put baskets down low for kids and leave empty ones for guests.

Coat racks in your entryway or foyer can be attractive functional accessories that will make your guest feel at home as soon as they enter your home. Think about what all people will be bringing in and design this area of your home to be accommodating. Will guests be carrying umbrellas? Have an umbrella basket near the door. Will they be carrying gifts or food? Have a small table where they can set them down. They may need a seat to sit and take off snowy or wet boots. Provide a mat or something for them to place wet shoes so that they don’t feel uncomfortable taking them off in your house. Add warmth to this area with a small lamp or candles.

If you don’t have room in your entryway, then guests may need to use your coat closet. Keep it nice and neat. Don’t over cram it or stash piles of junk at the bottom. Keep shoes neatly aligned on the floor or shoe rack with room for your guests to put theirs as well. Make sure that there is plenty of room front and center for their coats to be hung. You don’t want them worrying about their wet coat getting on your dry ones, so push your own coats far to one side before guests arrive.

Invest in uniform high-quality hangers so that you coat closet looks nice and neat. Their coats will be securely hung. Think about how heavy winter coats can be when you’re buying your hangers. Beautiful wooden hangers can really make a difference in your coat closet this winter.

Planning the Christmas party is a dirty job, but everyone accepts that someone has to do it. But what if that someone is you? Where do you start? How do you go about choosing Christmas party venues that suit your needs? Here are a few things to bear in mind when planning a festive Christmas party, and a few tips for taking some of the stress out of the organisation.

The first decision to be made is what sort of Christmas party you are looking to have. This will depend on a number of factors such as budget, the number of people that you expect to invite along, and any entertainment that you may be considering. Some companies like to have formal parties to which clients and other contacts are involved; others may prefer that their Christmas party is more relaxed, an opportunity for everyone to let their hair down. This will inform your choice of Christmas party venues and give you some guidelines on what you’re looking for.

Another early decision will be on the number of people to be invited along, as this obviously affects your choice of Christmas party venues. If your company is a small one with just a dozen or so people to accommodate, you’ll find a lot of local venues that suit your needs. If, on the other hand, you have a guest list that runs into the hundreds (as some large companies do), your options are immediately that bit more limited. This is a decision that it pays to make early. It is also important to establish what budget there is for your Christmas party; a £250 hire charge for use of a venue may be negligible to some companies, but a bit steep for others.

The next major decision to be made when looking at Christmas party venues is catering and drinks. If you’re planning to run a pay bar, then obviously your chosen venue will need to be licensed. If you want a formal sit-down meal or a buffet, you may need to check whether the Christmas party venue has its own catering, or whether you can enlist the services of caterers. Many Christmas parties may only have quite basic cold buffets, but this still needs to be agreed, organised, and paid for. Similarly, if you are expecting a large number of people, you’ll need serving staff for dispensing drinks, and this needs to be factored into the cost of the party.

Finally, you’ll want to consider any other requirements. For example, if you want entertainment such as music, you’ll need to check with the venue that they are equipped to deal with parties of this type, and book your chosen performers well in advance, as Christmas is a very busy time and the Christmas party is a staple of many musicians’ income.

Having made the big decisions on the size and type of Christmas party you want, the budget available, and the type of catering and entertainment involved, you can now start looking for a suitable venue. This can seem a daunting task, but it needn’t be. Bear in mind your key requirements, and make them clear to the venue in your first email or telephone call - this will save everyone a lot of time and effort. If a venue is fully booked, or otherwise unable to cater for your needs, ask them if they can recommend anywhere else in the area that would be suitable - once they’ve established that they can’t help you, they should be more willing to point you in the direction of the competition!

This is one of the times when a specialist venue finding service can help. Rather than opening the phone book or emailing round canvassing for suggestions, a venue finding agency gives you certain advantages - with a list of suitable locations in your chosen area, it can save a lot of time and effort by suggesting the sorts of Christmas party venues that may be able to cater to your needs.

In addition, a venue finding team will be able to recommend interesting and unusual venues that you wouldn’t have thought of yourself - a sporting venue, for example, that allows you to combine your office party with a day at the races, for example, or an out-of-town venue that offers activities such as paintballing or quad biking. This isn’t for everyone, of course - but by giving you the option, you have a wider range of choices.

Finally, a venue finding agency takes a lot of the stress out of dealing with your chosen Christmas party venue, because all the haggling over price, as well as details over catering and logistics are for them to worry about; you are left only with the important stuff; i.e., making sure your partygoers have a Christmas party to remember. Now that’s the hard part…
